What is Internet Radio?
Internet radio has been around since the late 1990s. Traditional radio broadcasters have used the Internet to simulcast their programming. But, Internet radio is undergoing a revolution and the Monks Media Radio Network is part of that revolution that will expand its reach from your desktop computer to access broadcasts anywhere, anytime, and expand its programming from our station to individuals, organizations and government in Indiana and beyond.
How does it work?
The Monks Media Radio Network broadcasts on the Web, or Webcasts, allowing audio to be streamed in real time to the listener, eliminating the wait times for downloads.
Our targetted audience is local to the greater Indianapolis area. However, the audience can be international, since there is no signal strength constraint as there often is for terrestrial radio. Listeners can access the streaming content from next door to anywhere in the world.
This is GREAT if you travel, because you can listen to us almost ANYWHERE!
