This Week's Recipe: cappelini marinara
April 7, 2005
Contrary to popular belief, there is a difference between marinara sauce and tomato sauce. Marinara has garlic, whereas tomato sauce (or pomodoro sauce) has onion.
Ingredients:
1 box of cappelini (angel hair)
3 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup white wine
salt
pepper
oregano
1 large can crushed tomatoes
3 tblsp olive oil
1 tblsp butter
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
4 large basil leaves
1: Heat the olive oil in a saute pan, let it heat up
2: Add minced garlic and cook until it is golden brown
3: Pour in wine, and let the alcohol evaporate out.
4: Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and oregano.

5: Tear basil leaves and add to sauce.

6: Drain cooked pasta and put into sauce pan.
7: Add butter and parmesan cheese.

8: Mix together until cheese and butter are melted.

9: Serve and enjoy-Buon Apetito!!!

BE SURE TO STOP AT MATTEO'S DURING MARCH 2005 TO TOAST MATTEO AND EMILY ON TWO YEARS IN BUSINESS. THEY WILL EVEN PROVIDE THE GLASS OF WINE FOR FREE!!!
